"TBF" Billfish Foundation Sailfish-Small Marlin Rods.

These beautiful "Special Edition" rods are hand-turned in the lathe by legendary rod builder, Hank Altenkirch. These rods are built on very high-end 16-20 wt. blanks designed by Hank which employ a composite of Graphite at the butt-end for light weight and perfect parabolic bend, gradually turning into fiberglass at the tip section for maximum strength and durability. Each blank is pre-stressed and splined for the perfect performance you'd expect. The foregrip is hand-turned Portuguese cork finished off with a beautiful Altenkirch tapered hosel made from exotic hardwood. The guides employed on this "Special Edition" rod are high-end Fuji "Concept" Power Oval guides wrapped in Billfish Foundation Blue with Silver accents under the guides and Silver endchecks. The butt is an AFTCO no.1 Unibutt (Black). The butt section is fit to the blank and epoxied with a hardwood bushing milled by Hank to micrometer precision—just like all our Altenkirch rods. Of course, the rods have the TBF logo with the Blue Marlin printed in Silver to match the accents on the guides.

These Sailfish-Small Marlin rods are designed by Hank at 6' 9" in length, but can be ordered in any length you prefer. Catch Atlantic or Pacific Sailfish as well as small Marlin.
